The best hockey hobby boxes to open right now (October 2026)
Artifacts just landed, Series 1 is two weeks out, and premium prices have finally settled. Here's what's worth opening at current market — and what's better sold into a buy list.
The short version
Hockey wax had a quiet summer, then September happened. 2026-27 Upper Deck Artifacts released on the 16th at a $159.95 MSRP and has already drifted down to about $154.95 across the shops we track. That puts it in the best value window it's likely to see this season.
#12026-27 Upper Deck Artifacts
Eight packs, four cards each, and a hit profile that's front-loaded for the price: two autograph or memorabilia cards, an Aurum, and a rookie redemption or acetate in every box. The parallel depth is what keeps it interesting after the first rip — serial-numbered colors run through nearly the whole base set.
